Clear space and size
· Clear space on every side: half the symbol height (20px at a 40px lockup).
· Minimum: lockup 120px wide, symbol 24px. Below that use the app icon.
· Symbol to lettering gap: 48 SVG units, 8.8px at 40px.
· In the app sidebar, the 20px app tile replaces the lockup; the workspace name sits beside it.
· Sign-in and entry pages use the 32px app icon, not the lockup; the page heading carries the name.

Text and lettering
C2 Celadon and stone · brand moments in the app
Empty-state art, onboarding, illustrations. Never on controls, text or status: the app chrome stays ink, greys and one green.
H1 Coral and mist · marketing
ascern.io, decks and ads. Coral never appears in the app, where red means danger.
Type
Inter everywhere: 400 body, 500 controls, 600 headings. The wordmark is outlined lettering in the logo file; never typeset "Ascern" as a logo. Marketing display 64/68, section 40/46; the app uses the four sizes on Typography.
Voice
Headline: Run your 360 desk without the legwork. The consultant is the subject; Ascern does the legwork. Always pair autonomy with: Nothing goes to a client or candidate until you approve it.

Product sequences carry the message. The parallel-line pattern is decorative and stays clear of body text. Each graphic is its own SVG file. The logo stays the only identity mark.
No stock robots or invented client logos. Use real product evidence when it exists. Example records stay labelled as examples.

The mark and the name

Brand · Story
The Ascent
Every recruitment desk climbs the same hill. Find the role, build the shortlist, land the placement. Most of the climb is legwork. The last step is judgement.
Our mark draws that climb, and who takes each part of it.
Two strokes rise together
That's Ascern. Finding roles and preparing shortlists, side by side, always moving up. They stop short of the top on purpose.
One stroke reaches the top
That's you. Only the consultant goes the whole way, because only the consultant makes the call.
One baseline
All three stand on the same ground: one desk, one set of records. Every email, call and meeting in one place.
The open gap
The left leg never meets the peak. That space is held for your decision. Nothing goes to a client or candidate until you close it.
The name
Ascern
ascertain
to find out for certain. The evidence, the sources, the checked facts.
discern
to judge well. Who fits, who to call, what to send.
Ascern sits between the two words, the way the product sits between the data and the decision. And it sounds like what it draws: an ascent.
Ascern ascertains. You discern.
The short version of the mark, the name and the product.
Use the story in decks, the about page and onboarding. Don't explain the mark inside the product; in the app it's just the logo.
